Description
The Coasters were a black American rock and roll group from the late 1950s. They were formed in 1955 and were called the Coasters because they travelled across the USA from the East coast to the West. They were the first group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and most of their music was written by the famous duo, Leiber and Stoller. All 4 songs on this Extended Play (EP)album were.
They first hit the headlines in 1957 when their double sided record Searchin and Young Blood made the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. It only had a brief visit to the UK charts in late summer 1957. Their recordings usually told a story in an amusing way and the big hit "Yakety Yak" personified that. It reached no 12 in the UK in the summer of 1958 and was followed in 1959 by another amusing rock and roll record entitled "Charlie Brown" after the cartoon character. This was their biggest UK hit reaching no 6 in the charts.
All 4 of these tracks are on this EP and it is a record that really takes you back to the 1950s and the early days of rock and roll.
It's in very good condition, all 4 tracks play well and the sleeve is also in very good condition.
