"The Complete Blue Recordings of Thelonious Monk, a 4-LP Mosaic box set in excellent condition. This set was the first one produced by Mosaic, and it documents the years 1947-52. The booklet paints a picture of a unique musician learning his craft by working, working working, and it also describes the strong influence he had on the nascent New York post-war bop scent. In its Blue Note (1994) guise, the set received a 5* review from Allmusic.com.
The records remain virtually unplayed - there are a few spindle marks. They were carefully double cleaned this week, and then play checked, and are well worth a conservative Ex+ assessment. The booklet is in near mint condition, but there is a split and some shelf wear on the top of the box. For transit, the records will be removed from the box, which will then be filled with bubble wrap. The records will be shrink-wrapped between two corrugated card stiffeners, and this package then attached to the box with more shrink wrap. The whole package is then bubble wrapped and put into a plastic mailing bag.
With packaging, the set will weigh close to 2kg. For UK buyers, I am forced by eBay to offer you a delivery option at £4.50.
