Description
This is the 4049 version of Heart of the Congos, the dryer 1977 release of the album before Lee Perry added more effects that are prevalent in later versions.
With the original rice paper label, the album is mistakenly called The Heart of the Congo Man and the band The Congoes.
Stamped S&G Record Shop, who ran a reggae label in the early 80s
Matrix is hand etched LP 4049 A/B. This is the most sought after version and the upper end price on Discogs is £1,850
Unfortunately, the record does not have its original sleeve but the vinyl is lovely and shiny so I am selling the vinyl at a price to reflect the missing sleeve
This is a ‘must have’ for any collector of reggae music or records in general.
