Vinyl: VG to VG+ : Album is glossy with quite a few hairline / paper sleeve scuffs (more on side one than two) ; plays with minimal surface noise for the most part with an occasional pop / tick; there is a small scratch that pops each time around on the first half of track 4 on side one, overall this is a clean copy of this very rare record.

Jacket: VG+ : showing only minor wear with a few small spots of yellowing to the white portion especially along the opening edge; the corners and edges are very clean with minimal wear; the graphics and text are crisp and clean blue on white

This is a mega rare Rockabilly / Country / Folk LP that is simply awesome in my humble opinion. I pick through a ton of estate sales, yard sales, thrift stores and stacks of records anywhere I can find them... and once in a while the record God's bless the searcher with a gem like this! This is one of the coolest LP's I have ever had the pleasure to find.

It is stated in the album notes to be the first release from Terry Teene who also released the rare Curse of the Hearse and Pussy Galore 45's. Below his photo on the front is a logo that says Terry's Tweaks. The internet turns up some wild stories about this gent being the creator of the Ronald McDonald clown make up and being with Buddy Holly and the Ritchie Valens the night before their tragic deaths. He passed away in Tyler , TX at 70 years old just this year after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle.

The album swings from more classic country numbers to tunes with a strong rockabilly feel, with some surfy and mild psych elements and even a couple of gospel numbers. Terry Teene wrote or cowrote a majority of the music along with Tim Dinkins, Tom Benko and some others. There is just an oddness that is hard to describe about some of this material that really works for me. From 1966, you really catch a medley of influences that culminate in a quality album with some really great original tunes.

That is the worst on the album and everything else plays much cleaner with some mild surface noise and an occasional light pop but not many.

The album is released on a little known label called Cartwheel Records. The LP label shows an Address in La Puente, CA. It also shows Publishing by Pantherman, Cartwheel, Dundee Music and Calwest Songs. FYI, I picked up a few 45's at this same sale on Cartwheel Records and they show an address in Marshall, TX but the art work and labeling look the same. Looks like it was a small independent label that turned out some solid country and rockabilly stuff with an occasional surf guitar for what ails you.

"Never One to follow his predecessors Terry Teene holds true to his inborn aquarian instinct to rebel against tradition and start with fresh new ideas (even his "name" is different). This time it's country music with a new concept. Terry puts new sounds, arrangements, and poetry into a basic country music groove. A touch of the old with the inspiration of new ideas. with this in mind Terry hopes to assist in taking country music out of the barroom and put it in the ballroom. adhering to his Iowa upbringing, Terry is often referred to as an "Okie" and element is in his feel for a song.This is one "Okie" who is O.K!

In reality this album is a dream come true. It's Terry's first released album and it contains several of his own compositions.

Terry has always known he'd be famous but he wasn't sure which of his remarkable talents would produce fame and fortune.

In speaking of Terry's multiple talents (and it's impossible to list them all), he never ceases to amaze people with his ideas and accomplishments. Currently attending his seventh year of post graduate studies. Terry also produces and MC's TV Shows (Make a Joyful Noise, ect.), movies, records, authored many newspaper and magazine articles and a book (Super Sissy), composed over 300 songs, and has achieved success as Ronald Mc Donald the Clown. An actor, singer, photographer, fashion designer, inventor and godwill ambassador for Goddwill Industries.
In putting this album together Terry wanted to provide a little something for everyone. Terry says "country music to me is the music of everyday people with everyday problems, joys, and happenings. " Therefore, this album contains a kaleidoscope of songs about social problems, heartache, love, pride, hope, comedy, faith, and inspiration.

Grading Guidelines I Use Are:

Still Sealed (SS) = a new record, sealed in its original shrinkwrap.

Near Mint (NM) Vinyl is near perfect. Very likely unplayed. At most, a light scuff appears on the record, but it should play without any noise or skips. The record sleeve should also be near perfect with only minor signs of wear.**I do not grade covers NM, as there are almost always some minor defects preventing perfect condition. SEALED or EX are the grades I will use for the top quality covers I sell.**

Excellent (EX) Vinyl should play with no skips. There can be some very minor surface scuffs, that should not affect the sound quality. The record sleeve can have some minor ring wear but should be in very good shape. There may be minor creases or bumps in the corners but no splits in the seams.
Very Good+ (VG+) The sound quality of the record is likely affected at this point. There may be some mild surface noise, and the vinyl will show wear, including surface scuffs and/or light scratches. The record is still very playable with no deep scratches that cause skips. On the cover, there will likely be light ringwear and the corners may be slightly bent / bumped. There may be wear to the seams but not tears or holes.
Very Good (VG) Very Good is not necessarily good for records. Record will have marks and scuffs but still plays well enough. Surface noise will likely be present, including pops and clicks. At higher volume levels, the music should overpower any pops and clicks present. There may be seam splitting, but not complete separation of the sleeve panels from each other. There will be noticeable ring wear on the cover, but the cover should for the most part still be in good condition.
Good (VG-) I do Not Sell Records at this grade unless they are SUPER RARE and will give a very thorough description of the item. Vinyl is well played and looks it. However, the record should still play without skipping. It will have substantial surface noise, pops and clicks. Loss of various parts of the dynamic range will occur due to worn grooves. This grade depends a lot on the owner and the type of records he or she collects. A rock record may still sound ok at a high volume, but quieter styles of music will be practically unlistenable. The record cover may have many problems including seam splits, tears, and writing on it
