So, one night back on November 13, 1997, the Cramps appeared instore live and in the flesh at the now defunct Tower Records on South St here in Philly. Later they played an epic gig at the also now defunct Trocadero. I was lucky enough to catch both. I had seen them 33 times live in concert before that sweet night, but it was my 1st time meeting and greeting. Let me tell you, they are every bit as unique and genuine in person as they are on record or stage. Also, very warm and witty without losing that scythe-sharp edge. They were gracious enough to sign most of the stuff that I schlepped to the appearance, including this, one of their rarest early pressings. As you can see all members from that era signed it: the late (RIP), great Lux Interior and the lovely & talented, one-of-a-kind Poison Ivy, Slim Chance, and Harry Drumdini. All were jazzed about seeing it for the first time in person. They had never held an actual copy of this record before. Lux in particular was bemused and bewildered by the misspellings. Shows you just how crow's milk rare this baby is. They were a real blast to hang out with!
This is a true early pressing not a recent one. The wax is in VG+ CONDITION. Still quite lustrous after all of these years. A few markings appear on both sides, but nothing feelable (just the music). Of course, these markings have zero negative affect on perfect playback. The sleeve shows some corner wear, ring wear, and a couple of creases. Remnants of a price sticker appear front, top right. You've clearly got good taste. This is a highly desirable and sought after artifact. Here's your chance to treat yourself to a Cramps' Grail! Enjoy and stay sick!
