Description

Those over a certain age will probably remember Friars in Aylesbury... it was a club that held gigs in the town's Civic Centre, in my time anyway. The bands that played were invariably capable of playing much larger venues, but there was a certain something about Friars (goes all misty eyed....).

Anyway, the promoter produced flyers that were available from select local record shops and I have recently discovered a long lost stash of said flyers for a variety of artistes that graced the stage at the Maxwell Hall. The flyers generally had rambling info about the bands featured on the front and details of other forthcoming gigs that were known about.

This one measures approx. 21cm x 33cm and is publicising the appearance of The Cure on 18th April 1981. This was the first date of the tour promoting Faith, with support being the film Carnage Visors - spookily enough the soundtrack of which has just finished playing...

It was folded twice, once across the centre and then in half again, but has been stored flat for the last 20+ years so you'd hardly notice.

If you have any questions please ask.

Happy Bidding!
