This is Variant 3
The cover has a signed inscription in blue ballpoint (see final picture): ‘To Heidi Love Simon’. You have to make your own judgement but I consider that this may well be from Simon Gallup given that the ‘S’ is the same brash shape in his mixed case signature, also the flourish below ‘SIMON’ is similar to the style of the ‘tail’ in his basic stand alone signature. I DO NOT REPRESENT THIS TO BE AN AUTHENTIC SIGNING, you must decide yourself whether to attach greater value to this item. You might search on-line and you will find examples of the various styles and characteristics of his signature and writing, in upper and lower case.
Both sides play through correctly without sound defect. Both sides are generally very nice with a high gloss sheen and only very feint paper grazes, no scratches of significance, flat and not dished or deformed. Sound is great!
HOWEVER, there appears to be a small pressing defect on side B (see pictures). There is a lighter coloured spot 3cms. in from the edge vertically below the lines of the horizontal text. This does not cause any anomaly in the sound; I have played this area through a number of times, watching the position of the dot, and there is no change whatsoever in the continuity of the sound.
