Description
The DOORS
1st Press
Stereo LP.
UK ELEKTRA EKS 74007.
The purpose of the below is to mention and describe any faults so please read carefully. Please ask any questions
Cover
Although the cover is straight and square there are some creases which, no matter how I try, can't quite show. The closest I came is on the picture of the back cover-and even then it's not that obvious-but they are there. Firstly the spine is clear and undamaged. The front cover creases are on the corners and most notably on the left. It's also on the right but less. It's obviously caused by the cover being against the record inside. It's caused light laminate lift along the crease lines. On the back the creasing is most obvious on the bottom right-where there are several creases -again with light laminate lift. Back to the front . Half way down the cover opening the laminate obviously wasn't printed completely flat and is slightly rippled accompanied by a light laminate lift. Oh and when you tilt the cover you can see that- in the middle of the cover- there is an impression of 'The Doors' name left in the cover surface. Since this LP along with many more came from the Elektra office someone obviously had paper on top and were drawing the group's name ( well that's my guess)
Record
The most obvious thing to mention is that towards the end of Light My Fire there is a mark-with a light hairline coming from it. I have played it through and can't hear anything-although it's not nice to see. There are some spindle trails visible when the label is tilted. Although overall it's in lovely condition the small mark means I have knocked it down to a VG grade
