Description
- Legendary debut album by The Damned, issued in 1977 on Stiff Records.
- The great news is that this is the UK 1st pressing with the A1/B1 matrices, and the run out slogans THE SOUND IS IN THE PLASTIC and A PORKY PRIME CUT.
- The sleeve has been taped at all four edges, but this has been partially removed and has left a residue, particularly on the back. The spine has some small creases and there is minor surface damage in other places. It grades Good+ to VG.
- The vinyl has lots of hairlines, marks and scuffs and several feelable scratches - however, the good news is that it plays through well and I didn't detect any skips. Surface noise is drowned out by the music, which needless to say you'll be listening to loud! Visually it's Good to Good+, but I'd say the audio is more like VG to VG+.
- The black and white Stiff labels are in very good order - just a little mild discolouration on one side.
- It comes with a good quality white inner sleeve from the era which has no damage or seam splits.
This is a classic punk album and original UK 1st pressings are getting increasingly expensive, so here's a chance to get one at a more reasonable price, with room to upgrade.
