Description
Here we have a UK 1st Press copy of The Damned - Damned Damned Damned. A true 1st press copy released on 18th February 1977 on the legendary Stiff Records label, the matrix numbers are;
SEEZ 1 A1 EG A PORKY PRIME CUT SEEZ 1 B1 THE SOUND IS IN THE PLASTIC -see photos.
The record has been cleaned in our amazing Degritter and the vinyl has come up spotlessly clean with good gloss but visible scuffs and hairlines, mostly on Side 2. No feelable damage. Light foxing on labels. We have graded VG.
Playback is massively dynamic, explosive and fun! The vinyl behaves as it should and plays through well with no jumping or sticking. There is some noise, more obvious between tracks as there aren't really any quiet passages :)
The fully laminated sleeve is robust but sadly bears the remains of a well intentioned tape reinforcement in the distant past to the top and bottom seams which has left some sticky residue ( see photos). Otherwise slight ringwear and discolouration but no writing or tears/splits.
The original printed Island inner sleeve is present, however we have popped the record into a brand new poly lined inner sleeve to preserve it after cleaning - you will receive both.
A low start price to reflect overall condition - and a chance to own an original piece of cultural history.
