Description Details   FINALLY...the live album from the bluegrass/folk heroes with 17 songs!

Over 6 years ago we discovered the four gentlemen from The Dead South from regina , Saskatchewan very late in the evening in a rather sparsely filled club during Canadian Music Week in Toronto. Our enthusiasm was accompanied by a contract signing and so we released their debut album "Good Company" in November 2014.

Of course we're pretty proud that we were able to write an indie success story with the band, which is now being celebrated with a double live album called "Served Live". Of course the idea isn't entirely new, but if it makes sense for a band, it's The Dead South, because their live shows are already quite legendary and their strengths, which are quite difficult to show, are particularly evident on stage come into their own on a studio album: unbridled joy of playing, a genre-busting live dynamic, a good pinch of humor and a mutual push are just a few of the attributes that come to mind.

Of course, the band's "die-hard fans" won't be 100% satisfied, as despite only three studio albums, one or two songs are definitely missing - for me especially 'Gunslinger's Glory', but that one is also very long. Some of their cover versions of bands like the Animals, The Decemberists or various traditional bands are also part of their live sets, but here only their own songs should make it onto the records.

The 17 songs on "Served Live" were recorded at 17 different shows because the band wanted to say a little thank you to as many fans as possible, but unfortunately the current situation has put a significant damper on this endeavor and none of them are missing Germany shows, whereas USA (LA, Seattle, Portland, Boston, Atlanta, Denver, NY), UK (Manchester, London, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Belfast, Dublin) and their home country Canada (Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal) are represented.

"Served Live" is an incredibly energetic and authentic live document that will also bring local fans of The Dead South a lot of joy and a warm consolation while waiting for the next tour.
