In 1961 Detroit label "Fortune Records" issued two LPs titled "Fortune of Hits Vol. 1 & 2" which were a compilation of hits by Nolan Strong and The Diablos. As part of this event Fortune also re-released the 45rpm of The Diablos 1954 classic "The Wind". The re-release made "The Wind" popular again. Beautiful classic Doo-wop ballad with the high tenor sounds of Nolan Strong, considered one of the best love songs of the doo-wop era, with its smooth silky sound. Smokey Robinson tailored his sound on Nolan Strong's style. This beautiful copy is the 1961 issue (same recording as the 1954 version). This 45 is in gorgeous mint condition. Test played super clean sound and super glossy with correct machine stamped numbers (see photos).
