Description

Here’s a very rare copy of the Doors 1st LP. This is a mono pressing from 1967 on the Elektra label, number EKL-4007. The mono format was abandoned entirely in 1968, meaning this rare issue was only in print for a few months. The album is full of interesting mix differences when compared to the standard stereo version. This is the cleanest copy of this album I’ve ever seen of a mono press. The vinyl grades Near Mint Minus due to a couple faint paper whisps. It has full gloss, looks beautiful and plays great. The cover is in similar condition with just a hint of rub wear. This is a stereo cover with a mono sticker added, as commonly done by Elektra. I own a record store, and I can’t tell you how many unplayable copies of this album I’ve thrown away. People loved this record when it came out and usually played it to death, partied with it, scratched it up, melted the vinyl with a cigarette etc etc etc. Whoever owned this album took fantastic care of it.
