It can be thought of as one panel in the tryptic of Doors-related cultural phenomena at the turn of the 80s that forever revived interest in this fading rock ‘n roll dinosaur. The other two were Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now, which prominently featured The Doors’ The End as its main soundtrack theme, and the controversial Hopkins/Sugerman No One Here Gets Out Alive, the first-ever biography of Jim Morrison.
