EKS74007 Elektra GOLD Label 1967 vintage pressing
These original Monarch stereo pressings are the only ones cut from the original master tape which is why they are so desirable. The other plants cuts used a tape dub according to hoffman and his thread. After hearing all other originals from the different plants you sure can tell the difference. It’s night and day.
Includes the original company inner sleeve which is taped on a seam.
The vinyl was cleaned in my degritter MK II. Was tested using an Ortofon OM30 fine line stylus attached to a medium mass arm on a vintage thorens TD165 cranked up very loud!!
The record plays very well overall with a loud and clear soundstage on the heavier tracks. There is crackle that can be heard during the quiet tracks but only soul kitchen was slightly annoying for me. The others were not an issue for me. Play grade is a strong VG. Visually there are multiple hairlines and some light scuffs so visually it’s a G+ but the play doesn’t match the visual at all.
Includes the original company inner sleeve which has tape on one seam and some writing on it. The outer sleeve is G+. See pictures
