Description

My father was given this Doors album in 1971 before it could be thrown away by a building supervisor pal who worked at a record company building.  My father's firm had a maintenance contract at the location, and my father's pal had offered him this and other L.P.s that were to be disposed of.  It is possible that the location may have been one of Dick James's Studio locations in London.
I was staying in the U.K. from 1971 to 1972, when my father brought this album home for me. It was played on my father's new stereo system, and then packed in an upright position with some other belongings and albums and shipped back to Canada. I have not played this album in 50 years as I had a large collection of cassettes and a quality player in the 70/80s, and then C.D.s became my media of choice.  I had planned to purchase a turntable, but never got around to it.
Very recently, using a borrowed Dual turntable from an audio tech. friend (who fitted a 'new' previously unused Pickering XV-15/625E cartridge and stylus to it), my Marantz integrated amp, playing through Duntech speakers, the album sounded good in all respects.  It did not skip or repeat the same groove. The only designation on the cover is K42016 A/B.  These letters/numbers are also imprinted on the record after the last tracks before the white circular labels. There is also a small 'tick' mark beside the word 'Doors', put there by an unknown writer.
For complete and accurate disclosure, I cannot detect any marks on this album.  I have not disc washed it, but I did insure that it was dust free by using a new disc brush before playing it.  As noted above, it did not skip, or repeat the same track on any of the songs.  The cover and sleeve are not pristine.  They are as originally assembled by the producing company, with no tears or damage, just 50 years of storage in a sealed box in an upright position. A very helpful e-bayer advised that although the original recording of 'Strange Days' occurred in 1967, this may be a re-release from 1971.
