Original 1st US pressing promotional release of The Doors’ fourth studio album “The Soft Parade” released by Elektra Records on July 18, 1969. The labels of this copy are extremely rare and represent an anomaly, because by the time “The Soft Parade” came out Elektra Records had already started using the new red labels, the 6th variation, and the majority of copies of this album were issued on it. Original 1st print gatefold cover contains two stickers at the top on the front, a clear “includes their hits Touch Me Tell All The People Wishful Sinful Complete Lyrics Enclosed” hype sticker with the “EKS 75005” catalog number and a red “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” with the Elektra logo. Original 1st print gold tan label variation with the “Stereo” banner and “EKS-75005” catalog number in bold typeface. Pressed by the Allentown Record Co. Inc. plant in Pennsylvania, the 1st pressing vinyl contains the factory identifier in the form of the “AL” abbreviation with the full 1st matrix numbers being as follows: Side 1 - EKS-75005-A AL MMMD; Side 2 - EKS-75005-B AL LMLL. This promotional album comes with the original Elektra Records custom inner sleeve with the portraits of the band members on the front and complete lyrics of the album’s songs as advertised on the hype sticker.

The cover is graded as Excellent Minus. It's very clean but has some light shelf wear as well as ring wear at the top and bottom on the front and back. The interior gatefold is in Near Mint condition. The spine is rigid and contains a fully readable text having some light soiling at the upper half. The cover doesn't have any splits, writing or residue. We grade the vinyl as Very Good Plus. It retains its glossy factory lacquer but has a few light non-feelable surface marks and hairlines as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Near Mint condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. The rare gold tan labels are in Near Mint condition, practically Mint Minus, without having any scuffs, wear or spindle marks. The vinyl plays great with perhaps just some very light occasional static which most likely would go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
