Description

This listing is for an original UK mono pressing of the Doors 1968 third album, Waiting For The Sun. This was only ever released in mono in the UK and there was only ever one pressing made. It has never been reissued. 

Sleeve

  • Sleeve is gatefold with side opening, as opposed to the inner open in the US version
  • Top left there is lifting caused by what appears to be a price sticker being removed - see picture
  • Top right, further minor lifting - see picture
  • Slight ring wear top front and rear - see picture
  • It does betray signs of age - general surface matting when held up to the light
  • Overall, I'd rate this as good

Record

  • Very little evidence of spindle wear on either label
  • Slight surface mark on side one - looks to be part of the manufacture process - does not interfere with play  
  • No evidence of surface scratches or marks
  • Played back on a Pro-ject deck with Rega amp reveals minor surface interference. I heard a distinct pop during Spanish Caravan and other minor playback noises. These are not consistent or persistent in any way
  • I'd rank this record as a conservative Very Good  

The sound on playback is excellent - you get more punch than in the stereo plus it's on vinyl plus it's only available on this pressing.

Great example of this rare and hard to find record.
