Description
An original very 1st mono press of the debut on USA Reprise. Labels are the Steamboat Tri-Colour ones you'd expect to find at 1st issue [in '68]. The vinyl comes housed in an original front image pasted cover - as you'd expect to find on a '68 copy. We also have the original Reprise inner sleeve advertising titles released in 66/67 [as you'd expect]. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+) In very nice despite having seen a moderate level of use. There are a few marks per side. One or two are feeable and will sound - so if that's something you don't like that sound of that - best look for a cleaner copy. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback with a couple of deviations per side. By and large a very appealing and addictive listen. Ok, it's not going to trouble the top grades - it isn't clean enough. But the level dealt out is more than acceptable and highly addictive. The marks mentioned above will cause a few clicks in a couple of spots on side 2. Thankfully they seem to be in some of the louder sections - so they don't seem that intrusive. A relatively clean player in many parts - but not exclusively. There's a bit of background evident in 'Quarter Past Nine' - but it is a low-key track and it's nothing that noticeable or invasive. Overall a great little player. Love it!
Cover (Vg+) Given these original 60's covers are so susceptible to wear - this example is looking in pretty decent condition. The front has avoided the worst surface wear which commonly exhibits. There's very good preservation of the colours in that front image. The rear exhibits some handling and light ageing - but much better than many copies. There's a bit of edge wear as is common for USA covers from this period - but it doesn't seem to have worn though anywhere [which is pretty good going]. There's a bit of wear on the spine, but certainly better than average. The text still seems to be mostly more or less legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity - thanks to the heavy card employed.
Inner (Ex-) Only lightest ageing. A one inch bottom edge split has been taped up.
