"The Emy Jackson Album" 1966
RARE original Columbia Nippon Japanese Pressing
Orange Columbia Recordings label with "Walking Eye" logo.
** Lyrics in Japanese and English bound inside gatefold. **

This is an exceptional record, part of a small movement inspired by the pop vocalist sounds coming out of the USA, especially labels like Motown, aimed at a westernized and booming Japanese consumer base. Kayoukyoku became the genesis of modern J-Pop. Emy Jackson's voice could make you swoon and stare at the comely face & figure on the full-color gatefold. This copy is in overall excellent shape.

While the jacket is vibrant with minimal wear after 57 years, I have rated the media as only "VG" due to the worn label on one side of the spindle hole, and the scuff on Side 2, which does contribute noise during a couple of songs on that side. Despite those flaws, is a great, great album experience.

The jacket is colorful and unmarked, the spine bears only one spot of wear, the bound lyrics are untorn, and complete, and the voice... is unforgettable. It's hard to place "The Emy Jackson Album" into one genre.
