Up for sale is a very scarce single from New Orleans, Louisiana, featuring some great boogie-funk! The A side is absolutely killer (in my opinion)!

Derrick W. Lewis (also known as "D=Lover") created The Family Players Band in 1975. He died in 2012 at age 60. He was born and raised in New Orleans. Brian Lewis was the drummer and percussionist for the band. The other producer of this record (in addition to Derrick Lewis) was Joe Modeliste, also known as "Ziggy" or "Zigaboo" who has been a leading funk drummer for many years, and was a founding member of The Meters, who were active between 1965 and 1977. Interestingly, although The Family Players Band (and Ziggy Modeliste) were deeply rooted in New Orleans, this record was recorded at a studio ("The Sound Doctor") located in Pineville, Louisiana (close to Alexandria), about 200 miles away from the Crescent City.
