Description
ULTRA RARE! Deleted, discontinued, and long since out of print. Rare domestic release of one of the very first recordings with Jimmy Page on guitar. Released in October 1964, Jimmy Page was one of England's most reknowned session musicians... on bass guitar and on lead electric guitar. This recording predates Jimmy's debut with The Yardbirds by a full year and a half. When The Beatles broke onto the charts in England in 1963, a lot of bands tried to emulate their mix of hard rocking guitar and harmony vocals. Others likely understood that they would have a better shot at breaking onto the charts with sheer muscle. That was The First Gear's approach on "A Certain Girl", and it went double on "Leave My Kitten Alone." And in this case... their main guitarists Phil Birkenshaw and Raymond Wafer just couldn't pull it off... so producer Shel Talmy had Jimmy Page stand in to play electric lead guitar that wiped out the band's beat... but must've boggled the mind of anyone who heard this band's debut single. A very cool record in strong Good+ condition. Various minor surface marks (very very light marks) running from the centre of the record out towards the edges on the A-side are more just storage scuffs than anything else. No audible scratches on this one. Side B is close to NM- shape. Both sides of this record PLAY EXTREMELY QUIET as though it has not seen much turntable use. These marks are obviously just from storage wear. Both labels are clean with only a couple of surface smudges visible on Side A, the worst one being through the "FI" of FIRST GEAR. The label on Side B is absolutely perfect. Not bad at all for a record which is almost 50 years old.
THIS IS ONE ULTRA RARE RECORD!!! It is usually the UK pressings which turn up, and once in a blue moon a UK copy will come up for auction on eBay. The last one which came up for auction was listed in Good+ to VG- condition and fetched over $300 USD. The domestic copies of this one NEVER TURN UP, and this is the first domestic copy of this single I have ever had my hands on, let alone seen!
IF MORE DETAILED SCANS AND/OR CLOSE-UPS OF THE RECORD ARE REQUIRED, THEY WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE... SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK US!

You may be wondering why some of our shipping rates are cheaper to the US than they are within Canada.
Canada Post is currently charging some rates which make absolutely no sense at all. All packages weighing over 250 grams must now be sent as registered mail within Canada. Unbelievable as it may sound... it costs us less to mail a vinyl phonograph record to Hawaii or Alaska than it does to ship it to the next province within our own country!

RECORD GRADING
Still Sealed: Original factory seal. Never opened. Never played. Perfect condition.
Mint: As stated. Like new with no defects
Near Mint: As stated near mint, or mint minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance. One scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description. A near mint record looks and plays very clean.
Excellent: Not much below near mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the record cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor surface defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!
Very Good: Still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete marks or splits. Still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain its original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect the sound that much.
Good: A little more cover/ring wear and/or delete marks, seam splits, etc. The vinyl will still retain much of the original gloss but with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches.
Fair: Obvious cover/ring wear which is starting to detract from the cover's appeal. The vinyl will have obvious scuffs and/or scratches which affect the sound.
Satisfaction Guaranteed! Good luck to everybody!
