Description
Artist: The Five Satins Title: The Five Satins Sing Label/Number: Ember ELP-100 (M) Jacket condition: VG Record condition: VG Notes: This LP qualifies as one of those that I occasionally sell under the description of "rough but rare". The cover slick is in decent condition with some light ring wear and a couple of corner "dings". More critically, however, both seams and the spine are split and neatly taped for nearly their full lengths. As a result of that, I think a VG grade is appropriate. As noted, the labels are original deep red versions and are in nice condition with a few light spindle marks and a couple of minor scuffs. The vinyl still has fairly good gloss but it has a considerable number of scuffs and scratches that detract from its appearance and warrants the VG grade that I've assigned. It plays with a pretty fair amount of background hiss and some ticks and pops but the classic music clearly predominates. Grading: Grading is usually only visual unless there are obvious problems that need to be checked out. I did play this one as noted above. I use Goldmine standards with Ebay's EX grade added for items NOT QUITE up to NM; but please read the notes above as I try to note anything that might influence the grading one way or another. I try to be conservative and grade as though I were buying the record and hope my feedback speaks well for my grading. Mono (M) or Stereo (S) is noted after catalog number. Don't hesitate to e-mail questions. Mailing and costs: Domestic shipping is via USPS, media mail with delivery confirmation. I ship in cardboard mailers made specifically for records with additional cardboard pads for added protection. Shipping and handling charges are a flat $4.00 for the first LP and $1.00 per additional LP. Overseas shipping on purchases under $100.00 may be sent by USPS First Class Mail International but I will upgrade at the buyer's request. Orders for more than $100.00 will need to be by Priority Mail International. This provides added protection for both the buyer and for me. The price will be the actual shipping costs plus $1.50 for the mailer and pads noted above. I know that customs charges are problematic but, sorry to say, I cannot lower the value on the customs form below the purchase price.
I always mail in a poly sleeve with the record outside the jacket. If there's an original inner sleeve I also remove the record from that and put it in a plain sleeve for mailing. That way, there are no seam splits on either the jacket or the sleeve due to any handling in the mail. I'm always happy to combine shipping costs for multiple purchases.
