And yes, Bellamy's third solo album! 'The Fox Jumps Over the Parson's Gate' was a very personal album for Peter - the songs, especially the title track, were intimate songs from his childhood and family. Enter the wondrous Chris Birch, bass singer extraordinaire (where is he? Why has he not recorded albums himself?) as an accompanist on a couple of tracks for the first time, also some fiddle accompaniment. For Bellamy fans, this is a key transitional album: he HAD proved himself as an 'absolute' soloist, and now he begins to re-join his community - to what joy for all of us. This album leads us towards the Kipling masterpieces.
