Description
For sale is a double vinyl record set from Frank Sinatra titled "The Frank Sinatra Songbook Volume II", originally released in 1972 by Reprise Records with a gate-fold presentation. This record has the two tone orange labels, rich orange on top with a duller orange (tan) on the bottom, with Frank Sinatra's picture on the top left. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 1-S/1-S/2-S/1-S, followed by an upper case "I", indicating that an early stamper was used to make this record at RCA Records' pressing plant, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this two album set used, professionally cleaned both records on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put these albums into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. Doing this protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There are no original inner sleeves with this listing. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of ring wear, edge rubs, corner blunts and some very small dents on the back cover along the jacket's opening. The spine has some missing paper, along with color loss at the corners from these blunts. The vinyl is visually graded as Very Good Plus because of very faint surface scratches and sleeve marks. The labels have no spindle marks and the center holes fit tight and snug. The vinyl is play graded between Very Good Plus and Excellent because of occasional low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quiet passages of playback, but not overpowering playback. This is still the best copy of this record that I've ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find a copy in this condition. I have more Sinatra records, as well as albums of all different genres, in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
