Description

A 1st pressing by Philips from 1963 on the UK CBS label. Matrix 1Y/1 & 2Y/1. Includes the Philips inverted triangles in the deadwax and is considered, by audiophiles, to be superior to the later Columbia A/B pressings. Super heavy weight vinyl. Rough/textured labels - the very first design. The LP comes housed in its original flipback cover. This is a fantastically well preserved record from 1963...
Vinyl (Ex) Looks shiny like new - not bad for 1963! I don't think I've ever seen the rough/textured labels look as good as this example - stunning! Under close inspection I can only make out one tiny mark so someone's really taken care of this copy. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with minimal interference. Yes, there are a couple of tracks where there's a touch of light static, but even this is very minor. I think you'd struggle bettering this copy it is a real stunner.
Cover (Ex) Again, someone's really looked after this copy. The front cover is shiny like new - barely a crease on it. The rear exhibits some light ageing, but in all other respects it is in outstanding condition. Only very light edge wear and the spine is entirely intact. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity.
