Description

What It Is:

This is a live radio show from the inimitable GOONs, on an original 10" long-playing record (half an hour on each side!) from the BBC Transcription Service. Each side contains the last half of a full show (labeled "Side 2 (of 2)". There is no cue sheet, just the BBC poly-lined manila sleeve and the disk. As you probably know, there were very few of these pressed originally, and very few remain.

If you have any concerns about my feedback rating: Please read the story about my single negative feedback in 11 years on eBay.

Track Listing:

Side 1
  1. The String Robberies(the Goon Show # 55)
Side 2
  1. Queen Anne's Rain (the Goon Show # 56)

Details:

discs: one 10" vinyl record
label: BBC Transcription Service
catalog #: 95751/98673 ("expiry date 21.12.62")
country of origin: UK
copyright (generally, release) year: 1962
shipping weight: 1 pound

Condition:

jacket: VG+. the soft manila sleeve has some creases around the corners, and just the hint of ring wear on the front. Not dirty, no seam splits, and the inner poly sleeve is intact with a few pokes but no holes - still glued properly to the front and rear covers
record:
(visually graded) VG++.
maybe two spindle marks on each side, superb labels, more hairlines towards the outer portion of the disc, but really beautiful -- especially for a 48 year old record!
(play graded) VG. surface noise, mainly on the outer portion of the disc, but not very intrusive

Grading standards:

All items are visually graded, and if they've been play graded that will be noted. I follow Goldmine grading standards. My grading is conservative, at least as good as I would expect from anyone that I would buy from.

Payment:

I accept PayPal or personal checks (personal checks must clear before I ship). If you must return the item, it must be in the same condition that I sent it, but I will refund your full purchase price and return shipping cost within the USA (outside of the USA, I'll refund the bid price, but you must pay for return shipping unless I've made a serious error, in which case I'll pay shipping too) -- I guarantee your satisfaction.

Shipping cost and Insurance:

Within the USA: I ship via the US Postal Service, priority and media mail. Costs are based on the shipping weight and package size. Please contact me for shipping to other locations. As always, if your winning bid is above $50, I will pay for insurance within the USA.

Outside of the USA: I'm willing to ship outside of the USA, cost based on the winner's address and size and weight of the package. I usually insist on airmail for reasonable delivery time and better handling. I state the shipping size and weight in the ad so that you'll have an idea of cost, though final determination of shipping cost will occur when the auction completes. Unfortunately I can't offer free insurance as it often gets quite expensive for overseas shipment, however, I strongly advise that you select insurance as I cannot be responsible for delivery in another country.

A note about customs declarations: I will mark all auction wins as merchandise and list the winning bid as its value. Please don't ask to have it marked as a gift, or at a lesser price -- that only risks legal action (because it is fraud), and if customs opens the item they will probably charge you a customs fee anyway if they think that it goes over the legal value of a gift.

Thanks for looking and bidding!
