Acquired new by my grandfather along with other records in this series on one of his US NY jazz adventures, this has remained safely stored, unseen and unplayed since at least 1983...
Vinyl - in truly excellent condition considering the sheer age and the fact this series dont have inner sleeves and very tight card jackets. Side one has 3 very minor hairline scratches visible in daylight and there is then further minor hairlining under stronger torchlight. Side two has one visible light scratch and then again just the few superficial hairlines under torchlight. Im certain the surface marks are from the flawed nature of the lack of inners and the tightness of the jacket. It will thankfully accommodate a Mofi master sleeve which it now has. The labels are clean and have no spindle marks. These records are built heavy and flat. Despite such fantastic ageing it will still undergo a deep clean in the Degritter upon sale.
Jacket - original heavy duty, lightly textured yet glossy fronted in decent clean condition but for a couple of caveats as pictured... there is a small tear to bottom seem at opening and small split where the record sits centrally on the seem but hasnt broken through. Otherwise its actually pretty thick and solid. As mentioned it now has a Mofi inner sleeve to help out though is abit of a squeeze.
A rare, top notch early 12in long player featuring one of the greats with only one owner and a real lack of use, thus priced to reflect all of this.
