Description

The Germs 1977 'Forming' b/w 'The Germs Live' 7" What Records

Rare opportunity to acquire a copy of Darby Crash and Pat Smear's debut statement from summer 1977. Released on What Records, the item was bought second hand in 1990 and was thereafter kept in a thick polythene bag, ensuring that it has remained clean and fresh – still retaining its very clean lyric sheet (see photo) and exhibiting a record cover that is without bends or tears of any kind, though there is marginal amounts of dust from the ages. Both sides of the disc have just been played and sounded superb – no clicks, scratches, pops or surface noise to report. The A-side is a fabulous loud cut, while the B-side is a live version of 'Sex Boy' recorded in LA's Roxy – a recording that could pass as a product by the '70s bootleg company Sign Of The Pig. The label states '45rpm' but nowhere does it state 'True Mono'. Many thanks for looking.
