VINYL is NM-/VG+
Super Clean High Gloss Vinyl is NEAR MINT- with only a very small amount of barely visible faintest sleeve scuff - except for one tiny (1 1/2 mm) pressing bump on last track of Side 2 that is audible, making a few clicks in that track, so giving that side a VG+ grade, though the rest of the side, and all of Side 1, play bright, clear NEAR MINT. Labels are exceptionally clean both sides, with no spindle marks.

Still in the original factory shrink wrap. Crisp and perfectly flat with vibrant, unfaded color on front and just a very few faint, incredibly vague tiny age spots on the still ultra clean, snapping bright back at opening edge. No creases, wear, stickers, soil or dings. Straight edges and sharp corners all around, with one slightly bumped (still sharp) l.r. corner tip. No splits.

Recorded before but released just after the 13th Floor Elevators' EASTER EVERYWHERE (IA-5).
This is the 2nd pressing, issued in 1974 - and is rarer in numbers than the 1968 1st pressing. The only visible difference to labels is that the text "Houston, Texas" is not printed beneath the label name. The cover is exactly the same as the 1968 issue. ______________________________________________________________________________________

Highly collectible Texas acid-injected fuzzrock gem. The Golden Dawn issued only this one outstanding Psych/Garage album, filled to the brim with inspired psychedelic wanderings and enigmatic lyrics... from the 60s Texas garage psych scene.
One of the Texas psychedelic '60s groups on the legendary International Artists label, home of the 13th Floor Elevators. In fact, the Golden Dawn sounded a lot like the Elevators, though their lead singer/main songwriter, George Kinney, had a gentler, more fragile delivery than Roky Erickson. The similarity wasn't terribly surprising given that Kinney had grown up with Erickson, and had earlier played with him in a pre-Elevators group, The Fugitives. Kinney also played in The Chelsea, which for a time included 13th Floor Elevators' Powell St. John.

The Golden Dawn became a part of the International Artists roster with the Elevators' help. They released only this one album, in 1968, “POWER PLANT”, that (again, like the Elevators) featured a bold psychedelic cover, inscrutable liner notes, and inscrutable lyrics. George Kinney's role in the Roky Erickson saga wasn't finished when the Golden Dawn broke up; he financed the publication of Erickson's book, “Openers”, which helped get Roky out of Rusk State Hospital.

POWER PLANT is filled to the brim with inspired psychedelic wanderings and enigmatic lyrics... from the 60s Texas Garage Psych scene.

One of the most hotly sought after albums within the world of rock collectors. Alongside the 13th Floor Elevators, Lost & Found, The Red Krayola & Bubble Puppy, Golden Dawn was one of Texas' major psychedelic exports. This album is full of swirling garage rock & billowing Psychedelia that grab on and hold your attention, moving through Acid-Fuzz Rock through contemplative LSD-inspired journeys.

Although every one of the tracks throughout both sides shine strongly, four of the ten highlights on this album include: 
Track 2). This Way Please: Deeply atmospheric, Acid-Flower Power trip (and the longest track on the album) that evokes everything Timothy Leary was all about.

Track 3). Starvation: One of the most 13th Floor Elevator sounding songs on the album, with vocalist George Kinney sounding eerily akin to his friend Roky Erickson. This has some great piercing guitar work courtesy of the two Golden Dawn guitarists Jimmy Bird and Tom Ramsey.

Track 6). My Time: This a great rollicking, exuberant and ecstatic tune, with strong vocal harmonies and more superb, rolling fuzz guitar all through the song culminating on a simple yet perfect eastern-tinged guitar solo.

Track 8). Every Day: This is a slow, spectral song that ends in very cool backwards fuzz guitar with the pulsing hi-hat in the background holding it all together till it drifts away into nothingness.
