Comments: Superb record! A genuine obscurity hiding on the Duke Records label. Incredible top draw selection on the A-side, to my tastes at the top of the more vocal late 60's-early 70's skinhead reggae sound alongside releases by the likes of The Maytones and The Kingstonians. B-side is a killer instrumental alongside the likes of The Hippy Boys and The Crystalites but certainly with it's own personal flavour, pretty jerking rhythms with a crunchy organ.
I can't price this one, very seldom seen with one copy on Discogs for £1.5k (perhaps a little optimistic...) but I certainly don't think this is a record to sleep on.
Playback: A-side plays with a brilliant rich and strong sound, light crackles below the music which are far from invasive. Music shines throughout with plenty of depth. B-side plays similarly with a sparing number of light background pops in the first 30s. There is a very sudden switch-up in the last 30 seconds which I had first identified as a skip, though listening to other recordings online this is in the mix/press.
Visual Condition: Strong VG+. Gleaming clean with a strong glossy sheen, sparing light unfeelable marks with a great cleanliness to the surfaces between. Looks sparingly played. Labels bright and clearly legible with intact centre, 1 or 2 spindle marks either side. Small residue/stain on A-side, white line near centre hole on B-side.
