The Gosdin Brothers Sounds of Goodbye • SIGNED by Rex & Vern - "FREE" Punchout  
The last copy of this rare record sold for over $100, so we started our bidding price there to be fair as our copy is not only in beautiful condition, but it's also a promo copy and it appears to be signed by both brothers. As you probably already know Vern retired in the 70's and Rex died tragically in 1983. Taking into account that these signature appear to be made with the same marker and at the same time, we conclude that they could be from the 1968 era of the record when the two of them were together in person for this rare-records signing. 
Regarding the promo copy: In the 1960s and 1970s, Capitol Records avoided the white label promo altogether and used stock copies of their albums with the word “Free” or the word “Promo” punched through the album cover. (see top corner) Sometimes, they simply used a stock cover with a large hole punched in a corner, rather than press a special white label promo version of the album.
Regarding the signature: We honestly tried contacting the signature expert from Pawn Stars and we even contacted the show and heard nothing back unfortunately. We cannot confirm the authenticity of the signatures at all. However, a thorough Google search of known examples shows that both brothers autographs/signatures are quite identifiable by how they formed the letter "R" in both their names. 
FOR INSTANCE:  

  • Rex had a tendency to make the top part of his "R" and connect the rest of E and X together then cross the X in the same/final stroke. We included the one and only example we could find. 
  • Vern mad the same "R" in his name throughout his career and we included 3 examples we could find. 

C O N D I T I O N 
JACKET: "FREE" punch out Capitol Records promo copy that was signed by both Rex & Vern. There's some aging/staining to the white on the back cover thats very minimal. 
INLAY: Generic. 
MEDIA: EX media plays and sounds great! Really nice quality but the collectability is in the signature!
