Vintage The Graduate 45 Record Radio Promo Spots 1967 Hi. First off, If you have less than 10 feedback, you must email me before bidding to verify your bid or else I will cancel your bid and blacklist you. Sorry, but I have had waaaay too many non-paying low-feedback bidders lately. Thanks.
A couple of years ago I purchased a lot of promo 45's, 33 LP's, and reel-to-reels from an old radio station.
Surprisingly, this lot contained many rare and often-destroyed vintage one-sided advertising spot 45rpm records, such as commercials for (then) upcoming films such as The Beatles film "Let it Be," "The Graduate," and "Easy Rider," and "LET IT BE!". The Beatles Let It Be promo obviously is the highlight of the collection. The last one I saw sell brought several hundred dollars, so be sure to check out mine.
Some other highlights from the lot includes a reel of US ARMY spots during Viet Nam, a reel of Cedar Point Amusement Park advertisements from 1970, stacks of late-1960's Pepsi commercial LP's, many Diet Coke reels with music by artists such as Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and more, as well as other promo rock 45's including the scarce PSA-1 James Brown public service "Fight Against Drug Abuse" announcement" on King in the sleeve.
I am not a record dealer, so I don't grade records per se. However, these are all in great shape and are pretty mint (many look like they were only played once if ever). If one has any scratches I will mention it, but I don't think many do. Note that the paper sleeves on some of the records may or may not be original.
In this auction, you are bidding on a Avco-Embassy Pictures record of 2 radio spot announcements for "The Graduate" which came out in 1967, starring Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman. It's the size of a 7" 45, but it plays at 33 rpm. B side is blank. "The Graduate" is a critically-important film, and I can only imagine that this is a pretty rare item. Deadwax: RV-299. Record is in very nice condition.
