Description

In this auction is an UNCOMMON GRASS ROOTS PROMOTIONAL RECORD. As you probably know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were ONLY released by record companies to the radio stations and DJs for on-air play or to vending companies for jukebox play. They were produced in very small/limited quantities and were NOT made available for sale to the general public; therefore, many promotional records are particularly hard-to-find these days and have become highly sought after by vinyl collectors and fans of certain recording it artists/bands.


Here are the details:


  • “THEIR 16 GREATEST HITS” by The Grass Roots

  • This is a PROMOTIONAL 7-Inch Extended Play Compact 33 Record from the Grass Roots.

  • This is ABC Dunhill PRO 50107 (LLP 165).

  • It was released in 1974.

  • This 7-inch PROMOTIONAL RECORD was released by ABC Dunhill Records for jukebox play only to promote the Grass Roots’ LP “Their 16 Greatest Hits”. So, it was never made available to the general public for purchase.

  • This Compact 33, also referred to as an LLP (Little Long Play) has 6 songs on it, 3 on each side.

  • The Side A cuts are “Midnight Confessions”, “Sooner Or Later”, and “Where Were You When I Needed You”. The Side B cuts are “Temptations Eyes”, Wait A Million Years”, and “Heaven Knows”.

  • NOTE: The Side B label has erroneously printed the song title “Temptation Eyes” as “Temptations Eyes”.

  • This record was issued in a paper picture sleeve/envelop with a flap to seal it.

  • The PAPER SLEEVE/ENVELOPE is in NEAR MINT CONDITION.

  • The VINYL is also in NEAR MINT CONDITION.
