The Grateful Dead Live / Dead 1969  -  Pitman press, 1st US pressing

OG first pressing with the green W7 labels. Complete copy with both original paper inner sleeves and the Celtic art insert.

Records are play graded on a modest set up with an Ortofon Blue cartridge/stylus. Higher end equipment may detect more surface noise but I'm confident in the quality of this copy's playback being accurately described. Records have not been professionally/deep cleaned, and may have dust or small fibers upon arrival. Expect some degree of light surface crackle, mild to moderate groove wear, and the occasional static pop present on all sides of the album at various moments, while overall, mostly playing quietly and at a VG+ level quality for the majority of the listening experience. All sides end quietly and cleanly, and start with a little crackle (except Side 4, see below). No skips, and no noise that overpowers the music. 

Side 4 has some harsh sounding distortion/groove wear at the very beginning, for maybe this first half dozen rotations or so. This quickly sorts itself out and resumes its VG to VG+ playback. Side 4, in my opinion, plays with the most amount of crackle, groove wear, and surface noise but is still very enjoyable. 

All discs are glossy but have many light scuff marks all over. There is more wear than what is shown in the pictures, however the pictures show the types of scuffing and marks you should expect to see across most of all 4 playing surfaces. Labels look clean, see photos.

See photos for insert and jacket condition. Note the light stain and foxing on the insert, and some discoloration inside the gatefold.

Jacket still opens and closes with a little bit of firmness and has a strong, deep red color, but has wear to the corners and small splits starting near the opening of the record compartments, splitting shown in photos. I would not recommend, and have not while I've owned this copy, use the jacket's record compartments to store the discs out of fear of further splitting the jacket. 

So overall everything is graded VG, but the playback is often a VG+ experience. Great sounding,  strong mid-grade copy.

Both discs will ship in MoFi archival inner sleeves, and everything will pack into an outer poly sleeve. I will pack one disc outside of the jacket, and one disc inside of the gatefold along with the insert and inner sleeves. I will obviously not put anything into the record slots of the jacket. Please indicate if you'd like the item packed in a different manner.
