Description

This is a complete set of "The Greatest Jazz Recordings Of All Time - (from the) Institute Of Jazz Studies ("Rutgers University?) Official Archive Collection" produced by Franklin Mint.  There are 25 boxes or volumes and each volume has 4 record albums.  Each volume has a theme and/or featured artists.  The whole collection has a "Complete Cross Reference Index".  My photos have a picture of the cover of the Index plus photos of 1.) the first and last pages of the list of recordings on the A and B sides of all 100 records, 2.) all three pages of the alphabetical listing of the 500 or so artists featured and 3.) the first page of the alphabetical listing of the 1000 or so song titles.  In addition to the Complete Index each volume has a pamphlet with information and photos related to the artists and theme of the music in the volume.


Our friend probably joined volume of the month club in the late eighties.  You can see there are three volumes taken off the shelf most frequently.  These included records with Ellington, Monk and Miles.  I just inspected the records in these three volumes and didn't see any scratches.  It seems like some of the volumes were bairly opened, much less the records inside played.  I opened all the volumes to make sure that all volumes had four records.  One of the volumes that has a spine that is hard to read had six records.  I got those back into their proper place.  So there are 100 records in 25 volumes, but the records may still be a bit shuffled.  


I will ship these Media Mail, but in two boxes.  I estimate that each box will weigh around 40 lbs. which is close according to my kitchen scales.  If you are in the New York area and want a nice drive I'd be glad to hold them for a reasonable time until pickup.

We're easy to get to, just 3 minutes off the Taconic State Parkway in the mid-Hudson valley.  I think if you put in your Zip-code eBay will do the milage. After payment we'll freely store it for a reasonable period while you arrange for a convenient time to drive here.  There is plenty to do and see on a day-trip to the Hudson Valley.  Please note -Returns accepted at time of pick-up
