Description
Sick of buying records described as NEAR MINT only to get them in your sweaty hands and find it is far from that? Me too. Visual grading is a complete waste of time let's face it. It just means that the person selling the record can't be bothered playing it to determine it's REAL condition. I am different. Every record I offer for sale has been cleaned and then played on my Rega Planar 3 turntable from beginning to end. The nature of the medium is such that a certain amount of noise especially in very quiet passages or between tracks is unavoidable. If you are looking for records to be as quiet as cd's perhaps you should stick to cd's. My records are more expensive than other peoples but at least when you buy one from me it is the first and last time you will buy that record. No longer will you end up buying multiple copies trying to find "the one". I am a collector too and recently I found I had six copies of "Brothers in Arms"!!! that gets expensive!! Other sites list the tracks and a whole lot of blurb usually cut and pasted from Wikipedia. I don't. I figure if you are looking at my record you know what you are looking at. I spend my time cleaning, listening and giving an ACCURATE appraisal of a records condition. If a record is below the standard I would keep in my own collection it doesn't get sold on ebay, no exceptions.
Condition report. Very hard to find mono debut album by "The Groop". Hard to fault record. Being a mono recording it has it's limitations from a pure sound reproduction point of view. Otherwise I can't fault it. Cover is nearly perfect, no ring wear, slight (and I mean slight) corner damage on bottom left corner, otherwise fantastic.
