Description
Hello! This is a listing for a copy of American Woman by The Guess Who on RCA Victor, catalogue number LSP-4266. This copy is still sealed in its original shrink wrap. This record was found in a collection of other records dating back to the late 60's and early 70's. This particular copy has a hype sticker on the cover that reads "CONTAINS THE HIT NO TIME LSP-4266", which supports the idea that this is an early copy of this release. 'No Time' was a big hit at the end of '69, getting big right before this album came out. A few months after American Woman came out, the title track became an even bigger hit when it was released as a single. Yet the hype sticker present here doesn't mention 'American Woman', suggesting that this copy dates to the first few months of release for this title. (I've seen a hype sticker for this release that advertises other singles from the album that were released as singles after the album came out.) This cover has held up pretty well and looks to be in quite nice shape. The corners show a bit of wear, but overall, it seems like the shrink has protected it quite well. The records have remained unplayed for the almost 50 years since they were pressed, and everything inside the cover is untouched. If you want to add an unplayed copy of this famous title to your collection, this would be a great copy to go for. Sealed copies of this title don't turn up too often, and as of writing this description, this is the only sealed original copy of American Woman on eBay right now. Happy bidding!
