Here it is, an original of Montreal’s The Haunted album. No one really know how much of these have been printed but it’s arguably low, especially for a non-private release (actually it’s on a small local label). Musically the garage record must from Canada, at my taste, and long time a collector favorite.

This ugly cover design was designed at last minute, –sur le coin de la table- as the french expression, by leader and guitarist Jurgen Peter. I was told by M. Peters that, at the time of completing the details of the release, the band just switched to another lead signer and the record company wanted to put a picture of the band with the former signer on front cover. It was a common practice in those days. As a good front man aware of his image, Jurgen had draw this awful cover in 15 minute and sent it to the cover pressing plan. Unfortunately, almost all of the drawing colors didn’t make it through the cover press. You can view the cover as it was originally intended on Jurgen Peter’s web site: http://www.thehaunted.com/ . Canadian pressing, on the TRANS-WORLD label # 6701, 1967, MONO (stereo doesn’t exist).

There’s a reserve placed on this record because I don’t want to play it and let it go for an absurd price. In fact, I’ll hate to see it go even for the reserve.

RECORD is VG+: there’s surface scuffing and light scratching on surface, nothing fellable. Record’s still shinny, grooves and sound are crisp and yellow labels are beautiful (see picture 2). The record plays EX to M- (or as new).

COVER is VG-: ring-wear, couple of creases on spine, general use all over (corners, seams, front, back), no seam split. Overall solid and presentable.
