Description
The Heptones – Black Is Black LP Studio 1 JA Issue VGC+ Beautiful Really good sound quality - vinyl has expected scuffs and superficial scratches for a record of this age. Very slight warp but has no effect on sound at all
Have play tested and grade overall as a VGC+
Side One T1 - VGC+ has one of the two noticeable scratches ( see photo) but still only light and occasional crackle T2 - plays EXC T3- - VGC has the other scratch - and there a few louder clicks here but still not an overbearing sound T4 - VGC+ T5 - VGC there is a louder and more noticeable crackle from half way through - still doesn't detract from music T6 -VGC - crackle from T5 carries on for a bit but stronger and louder tune so crackle just disappears
Side 2 - light and occasional crackle VGC+ throughout
Some strange ' rubbed' type marks right at end of both sides (see photo)- on Side 1 needle will move / slide quickly to centre a second or two after music finishes and then pull back on to last few bars of tune - so just lift stylus as soon as tune finishes!
tiny bit of ink on label - don't agree with selections! - would go for You've turned away instead of ting a ling personally
Sleeve is in good shape - bit frayed by seams and has a few creases etc - bit stained by one seam ( slighty brown) and also inside - not sure if it is glue or damp etc.
All in all - a rare original JA copy of a great Heptones LP
