Description
For sale is a vinyl record by Al Hirt titled The High-Flying Trumpet Of Al Hirt, originally released in 1964 by RCA Records as a promotional album manufactured expressly for United Air Lines. Inside the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers 10-S/11-S, followed by a machine stamped upper case "I", indicating that earlier stampers were used to press this record at RCA Records' pressing plant located in Indianapolis, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this album used and immediately put it into an archival protective inner sleeve. Doing this protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve that may have come with the release. The original inner sleeve is graded as Excellent because of a creased corner. The cover is graded as Excellent because of corner blunts and edge rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint with smooth, shiny surfaces that are in a like-new condition without any sleeve marks, surface scratches or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this record as Near Mint with incredible dynamics and pin-point imaging of all the instruments on a wide soundstage. It plays all the way through without any skips, pops or surface noise of any kind. This is the best copies of this album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find a promotional first edition like this one, especially an Indianapolis pressing. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Jazz albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately in Near Mint condition.
