Description

This is straight out of my storage unit clean out. I have been a avid music/record collector for many years. Collecting records has been a passion of mine but now I am downsizing my collection. This record belongs in someone’s collection who can enjoy it. Good Luck and thanks for L@@king at my listing.

Up for sale is the 1977 Rankin/Bass production of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit Deluxe 2 Record Set with Special Edition Book. The two records are in NM+ condition with the exceptions on side 2 the label has a little bubbling (see photo), side 3 and 4 have 1 very tiny scuff probably from handing. I’m not sure what caused the label to bubble or if it’s always been that way. It’s been that way as long as I have owned the records which has to be at least 15 years. The records don’t look to have ever been played maybe once at the very most, still very glossy. The booklet is in excellent to near mint condition. The booklet is bright no torn pages. Very minor handling wear. The box that holds everything is in VG condition given its age it’s a miracle it’s in as good of shape that it is. It has one split corner on the top right corner. General handling wear on the 47 year old box.

Please look at photos and email me with any questions.

GRADING STANDARDS:

(M) Mint: Record and cover appear absolutely perfect in every way.  Grade is seldom used, even with sealed albums where the record itself can only be assumed to be mint.

(NM) Near Mint: Vinyl is shiny with no obvious signs of wear and plays perfectly with no audible imperfections. Cover is close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident.

(EX or VG++) Excellent /Very Good ++: Record or jacket has a minimum of audible or visual imperfections. Vinyl has been handled and played very carefully. Light paper scuffs and/or spindle marks may be visible with no appreciable lessening in sound quality. Covers show very minor signs of handling and wear.

(VG+) Very Good Plus: Record displays light scuffs, spindle marks or very light scratches that may create some noise disturbances, but don't affect one's overall listening experience. Jacket begins to show more prominent signs of storage wear and aging.

(VG) Very Good: Defects are more pronounced with visible signs of handling and playing. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially during soft passages and a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, although none of the flaws should be overwhelming.

(G) Good / (G+)Good Plus: Vinyl will have scratches and visible groove wear. Record plays without skipping, although noticeable surface noise or ticks will be heard. Jackets have even more pronounced defects such as seam splits, tape, writing, ring wear, water damage or other defects.
