The JAM: LOVING KIND OF WAY / SOMETHING'S GONE (Sire S-5001, purple/ yellow label)

Mild light paper scuffs, a ring of wear on the label. Tiny bb-sized tear on "Loving Kind..." label.
An unusual and strangely engrossing record of obvious merit offering two sides of classy and cool sophisticated late 60's pop. It's also an early release (the first?) for Seymour Stein's SIRE Records (who boasted an impressive roster of releases--mainly British underground psychedelia--at their start, but made their biggest splash in 1976-77 by releasing early records by The Ramones, The Saints, Richard Hell, Flamin' Groovies, DMZ, The Dead Boys, Radio Birdman and more (!)).
This "JAM" has --->nothing<--- to do with Paul Wellers' UK group from ten years later (to state the obvious). I've not been able to dig up any info at all about this lot (though it's been awhile since I've looked) For any trainspotters here are the credits (and you can click on the song title to hear a sample):

Singles are conservatively graded taking into account both how the record looks and sounds. A NM record is glossy and shows little or no signs of having been handled. Labels have no writing, stains or marks. It can be expected to play back essentially flawlessly. An EX record will have the slightest signs of wear but still retains a gloss; while labels may have one or two minor imperfections (label scans allow you to see for yourself). VG+ records will show more signs of wear visually but quite often this light scuffing does not effect playback. Consult the sound files. A VG record has more wear to both the grooves and the label; it will still deliver an enjoyable listening experience. It may be nothing more than a couple of light clicks--nothing ear-shattering. I will not sell any records that give you that "listening next to a crackling fire" effect, or that play back with groove distortion (i.e. "blown-out"), guaranteed!
