Description

The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s BBC Sessions presented as a 3LP 180-gram vinyl set, collecting Hendrix’s explosive British radio and television performances from 1967 and 1969.

This Legacy/Experience Hendrix edition features more than 30 original recordings remastered from the original BBC tape archives. The vinyl was cut by George Marino at Sterling Sound from the original master tapes under the supervision of Eddie Kramer, Hendrix’s original engineer, and pressed on 180g audiophile vinyl at RTI. The set is housed in a gatefold jacket and includes a full-color LP booklet.

The performances capture Hendrix in a raw, fast-moving broadcast setting, with the Experience tearing through originals, blues workouts, and unexpected covers. Highlights include “Foxey Lady,” “Hey Joe,” “Purple Haze,” “Fire,” “Stone Free,” “Catfish Blues,” “Driving South,” “Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?,” “Day Tripper,” and “Burning of the Midnight Lamp.” The set also includes appearances connected with Alexis Korner and the famous BBC material featuring Stevie Wonder.
