1968 UK 1st PRESSING LP


This charming, hard to find LP was the first album recorded & released by The Johnstons - an Irish close-harmony folk band, founded in London, England and consisting of Adrienne, Lucy and Michael Johnston.


The disc itself is a UK 1st pressing from 1968 and is on the legendary purple & white Transatlantic label: TRA 184

Housed within a fully laminated 'West Brothers' printed cover & original die-cut 'Patent Applied For' inner-sleeve.


Matrix numbers: TRA 184 A2 & TRA 184 B2

And clean & unblemished pair with numerous spindle trails around each centre hole but no major faults.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Clean & glossy playing surfaces which apart from some minor inner-sleeve storage blemishes are free from any scuff, marks or scratches on either side. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals a small number of harmless wispy paper-type hairlines but no further significant marks or wear.

Play: EXCELLENT

This fine sounding copy has received some careful play on good equipment and is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality. My careful play-check at volume uncovered some minor light background during some quieter passages, but no clicks, pops or any other major audible distraction or fault.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A very clean, strong & glossy example which apart from a few tiny spine bends and 'thumbnails' towards the front opening edge is hard to fault. Both seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine is fully worded & undamaged.
