Original UK Stereo Issue in Laminated Gatefold Sleeve with Queen Victoria Lyrics Inner.  Blue/Black Pye Labels.  A1 / B1 matrices.  Cover has NPL cat number.

Yet another solid gold album from the Kinks - the fourth in a row of consecutive classics ("Face To Face", "Something Else" and "Village Green"), and their first fully fledged concept record (though Village Green came close). 

Condition - (i Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)

Sleeve - VG Quite tired - one of the flimsiest gatefolds I've ever come across, this - and it usually sports some damage.  Here, the spine is heavily creased - causing the laminate to fray and the carboard to flake.  Top left corner has been bumped quite bad, and a small section has come away.  The spine itself has been flattened, which at least has meant that band/album rubric is still readable - though the label / serial is very worn.  Some ringwear and discoloration to that back, and a name penned in the top left hand corner.  Laminate to left of rear is coming loose.and a bit discolored.  Inside of the gatefold still looks good, though there's creases in the spine area and discoloration towards the edge of the back..  The Queen Victoria inner lyric sheet a bit marked but overall looks great (particularly Queenie), though the "pull" at the top of the crown is gone. 

Vinyl - VG The record has seen quite a lot of play, and theres quite a lot of scuffs and scratches.  But none of this is too serious.  Apart from some crackle (which eases at times considerably) and a very slight and not unpleasant distortion at times this plays fantastically well - above VG.  The only real issue is a few clicks in "Young And Nothing To Say" and that isn't critical...there's nothing close to a skip or a jump here....also could do with a decent clean.
 
Who wants this?  A really nice playing copy - and one where, despite some tattiness, you have all the bits.  The record is hard enough to find, but a lot of the Queen Victoria inserts are usually MIA.  A great copy for a Kinks fan, though below the standards of a hardcore collector...
