Description

You are bidding on a most unique pressing of "Face To Face," the 1966 album by the Kinks. The album was pressed at the CBS Records pressing plant in Terre Haute, IN but has stickers identifying it as a "Promotional Album" produced by Columbia Special Products, a subsidiary of CBS Records that usually produced product aimed to sell either at "non traditional" outlets - for example, a "special"Christmas collection for Firestone Tires - OR would produce a limited quantity of a recording that had gone out of print, to name a couple of examples of their business.
Despite the Columbia Special Products stickers, however, this album uses the standard Reprise label and catalog number instead of the Special Products label and the Special Products catalog numbers. This is NOT a promotional album that was meant to go to radio stations and/or provided for in store play. It is possible that it was one of a group of titles sold to the "Richard Kastner Company" to distribute to its customers in an effort to increase sales.
The album is visually graded to be in excellent condition and almost appears to be unplayed. The jacket is in excellent condition, in original shrink wrap, but there is a staple mark in the top left corner of the album - otherwise, you would never know that this is a 55 year old vinyl album! Corners are sharp and there are NO chips or splits.
Please consult the pictures to see the "Columbia Special Products" stickers on the front cover (under the shrink wrap) and on the poly inner sleeve. The "Richard Kastner Co." stamp is also on the jacket itself and is under the shrink.
