The Little Hatchet Band (Little Hatch)

'S/T'

M&M RECORDS Label # LP-3001, issued in GERMANY February 1974. Record comes with 4 page insert.

Very rare first ever vinyl release of Mississippi born harp bluesman Little Hatch. In 1955 Hatch formed and fronted his own band and began jamming in blues clubs of Kansas City, playing on the weekends and a few nights a week. This act would continue for more than 20 years, and in 1970 German exchange university students recorded two Little Hatch performances under the so called 'field conditions'. This became an LP entitled 'The Little Hatchet Band' remastered and distributed by a tiny German label M&M Records in february 1974, and not in 1972 as mentioned in other sources. Nine tracks on this album, three were recorded on June 27, 1970, and the other six are from July 11, 1970, all recorded in a club at 1611 E. 12th Street in Kansas City. This album is now very hard to find, distribution was very limited and maybe a few hundred copies were pressed. Record has super light visible hairline type marks seen under strong light, but not affect play at all. Absolutely no nasty marks or scratches. Plays excellent all the way through! Sounds perfectly to me! Labels are clean with barely any spindle marks. Fragile white stickered cover has light to moderate storage wear, only thing to mention are a few rub traces on the spine. No tears or splits. For grading: Record (visually) VG+, playing is EX/NM. Sleeve VG (not trashed). Great and hard to find item!

I've decided to sell a part of my own private record collection. Most of them were bought as new and have only been played once or twice. If you are a BLUES collector, be sure to check my other auctions for more nice and rare items and you can save on shipping costs. All records I offer are playgraded and have no writing or stickers on covers or labels unless mentioned in description.
