THE LABEL (SOFA) compilation 1979  The Label TLR LP 002S GLOW IN THE DARK METALLIC PICTURE DISC

Forgot I had this one in the collection. Guess 28 years in a storage room can do that to one's memory. The most fantastic picture disc ever. The medusa head has metallic squares that resonate when the album is moved under the light. And then the green snake tentacles glow in the dark! The album was sealed in a plastic bag that was sticky on the outside so I opened it up to take the photo. Therefore the vinyl has never been played. Under close inspection under a light I notice a bur on the second track on one of the sides. I'm afraid to mess with it so that remains.
I found this info on the interwebs about how this picture disc was put together:
Each disc consisted of six separate parts: two die-cut metal foils for the face; two plastic phosphorescent films for the eyes, mouth, snakes, and ring of circles around the edge; and two transparent vinyl discs each pressed on one side only.  All six parts were painstakingly glued together by hand!  The title was actually supposed to read The Label (So Far) but the printer left off the "R" and it became The Label (Sofa).  Known simply as "Medusa", the only reference to its contents was a small yellow square sticker attached to the clear PVC sleeve.
