The Jason King Theme
DB 8826 1971
b/w: “THERE COME A TIME” (Misprint)
At 50 years old, this classic theme from the 1970s TV show, “Jason King” is in very good condition with minor hairlines that have no impact on the playback and overall sound. Both sides play through without jumps, clicks or pops.
What makes this demo unique is the misprinted B-side which should read, “There Comes A Time” and not, “There Come A Time” which in itself is grammatically incorrect - unless words like, ‘Will’ or ‘May’ preceded the word ‘Come’
As with some demo issues, the record company’s art department focused mainly on the ‘A-side’ for radio DJs to plug. On some occasions, mistakes were made as is the case with this demo issue. Probably as it was a B-side error, it was overlooked.
I have included a stock image of the general release of this theme which shows the ‘B-side’ with the correct title.
Original company sleeve is in very good condition with just a couple of tiny splits to the opening and centre.
Definitely one for the serious collector.
